With a soulful, powerful vocal delivery, Mia Jativa, known as “Jahtiva” is influenced by genres such as roots reggae, jazz, blues and hip-hop. Jahtiva released her debut EP “Medicine Woman” in 2024, featuring an all-star cast of world-renowned musicians/engineers including Grammy winners Santa Davis on drums and Fabian 

Cooke on the mix. In 2025, Jahtiva released her second EP “Crucial Lover.” The EP features another excellent line-up of all-star musicians, most notably organist/producer 

Roger Rivas (The Aggrolites, Long Beach Dub All Stars and Chronix).

In the fall of 2025, while on tour, Jahtiva found herself guesting with Fortunate Youth at 

the first ever Reggae Rise Up festival in Oregon. Deeply inspired, Jahtiva immediately 

hit the studio and recorded “Ghost Train,” a collaboration with violinist “Man of the 

Forests” that includes reggae royalty Fully Fullwood and Tony Chin from the legendary 

Jamaican backing band Soul Syndicate. The track was produced by Lewis Richards 

(Dirty Heads, Slightly Stoopid, Sublime) at 17th Street Recording Studios. A dub album

followed and includes mixes by Scientist, E.N Young and many more. 

2026 found Jahtiva releasing a collaboration with Fish! from Nice and Swell titled 

“Welcome to the Funhouse” which includes the crowd favorite “Funny.” Two more 

singles followed: “June Gloom” and “High Maintenance Girl,” the latter getting play on 

Surf Roots radio. In the summer of 2026, Jahtiva was also a featured artist on 

“Something Going On” with Alific, the brainchild of Brendan Dane, former bassist for 

Stick Figure. 

Jahtiva’s third EP titled “M.I.A.” will be released in the fall of 2026. In addition to “High

Maintenance Girl” and “June Gloom,” the EP includes the additional tracks “Why You 

Gotta Go, “Big Bad Man,” “Raving” and “Let’s Get Together” written in collaboration with 

Studio One artist and the “Dancehall Godfather” Johnny Osbourne. Staying consistent

with her signature sound, Jahtiva was reunited with Santa Davis, Tony Chin, Roger 

Rivas and Andy Geib on the record while still highlighting the Jahtiva band’s staple

studio musicians of Henry Lopez, Tuuri Sampo, Cory Mahoney, Derek Waldmann and 

Mario Jativa. The EP was mixed and produced by Lewis Richards and mastered by 

Downbeat Mastering out of New Zealand. 

With over 120 live shows under her belt including highlight performances at the House 

of Blues and Music Box San Diego, Jahtiva’s momentum is at an all-time high. The 

twenty-three year old continues marching towards her goal of creating powerful, 

inspiring music and continuing to connect with her growing fan base while establishing 

important relationships with prominent artists and influencers in the scene. Jahtiva is
